SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOLS -- This Department of Transportation grant of about $500,000 will build safe walking and bike paths to Picture Rocks Intermediate and Desert Winds Elementary Schools. This proposal was developed by Kathy Trask.
WALK & WATCH -- With the establishment of Picture Rocks Park, residents made a commitment to keep the park free of illegal activity. Each evening volunteers walk, bike and picnic with eyes open. Working with Neighborhood Watch, the Citizens for Picture Rocks' Walk & Watch project has, merely by having a regular presence in the park, discouraged unwanted activity and helped maintain a safe place for families.
