ADOPT-A-ROADWAY CLEANUPS -- Twice a year, volunteers pick up litter along three roadways: Sandario Road from Picture Rocks to Sunset Roads; Rudasill Road from Sandario to Avra Roads; and Picture Rocks Road from Sandario to Sanders Roads. Safety vests and trash bags are provided by Pima County Department of Transportation, and lunch for volunteers is provided at a generous discount by the Minit Market Subway and paid for with donations for PICTURE ROCKS PRIDE tee shirts and caps. Co-coordinators are Jan Pekelder and Chris Banks (682-7229)

COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM -- A trained Team is in place, coordinated by Ken Kisthardt (682-0287).

PICTURE ROCKS DIGEST -- This monthly publication with local news and information is distributed by E-mail and at local establishments. To receive the newsletter by email, PictureRocksDigest@comcast.net . News is compiled by Albert Lannon. albertlanon@powerc.net ), Formatted by Karen Zopf and Jan Pekelder. C4PR has been successful in obtaining a number of grants and bond projects to benefit the community, including Safe Routes to Schools sidewalks and bike lanes, BMX/Skate Park, shade canopy over the children's playground, tools for roadway cleanups, community resource fairs, security cameras in our park, pool and community center, and a forthcoming computer lab at the community center.

WALK & WATCH -- With the establishment of Picture Rocks Park, residents made a commitment to keep the park free of illegal activity. Each evening volunteers walk, bike and picnic with eyes open. Working with Neighborhood Watch, the Citizens for Picture Rocks' Walk & Watch project has, merely by having a regular presence in the park, discouraged unwanted activity and helped maintain a safe place for families.
