Citizens For Picture Rocks is a non-profit all volunteer community improvement organization incorporated as a 501(c)(4). It was founded in 2002 by a group of residents concerned with crime in the community. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month, 7 p.m., at the Picture Rocks Community Center, 5615 N. Sanders Road. The Coordinating Committee, which takes suggestions for and sets the agenda, meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
Much is going on behind the scenes. Pima County Parks and Recreation personnel are working with Procurement staff to finalize and issue an
SFQ (Solicitation for Qualifications) to which interested designers/builders will respond. A team consisting of county staff, community members and
park users will evaluate the responses and select the company that will design and construct our park. It's possible that a contract could be awarded
by the end of the year!
Again, many thanks to everyone who has contributed to this process. Participation by many different segments of the community is critical to
making this a valuable addition to our park - a fun and safe facility for BMX riders, skateboarders, families, friends and spectators - and a unique
attraction that will help put Picture Rocks on the map.

Fortunate to have two community centers - County funded Picture Rocks Community Center and PRCCI, a private non-profit
staffed by
volunteers - many residents are not aware of the programs and services available.
